The Bay Area Film Society was founded in the winter of 1997 by a small group of film lovers desperate for more films. We kicked off with "The Full Monty" at the local historical society on a snowy February night, not knowing if anyone would show. We sold out. We've been showing films ever since. We're no longer at the historical society since we've now acquired the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, west of Ashland (our Friday night location) and STAGENORTH in Washburn (our Saturday night location). We show one to two films per month from September through April.
